The biggest party in town is set to kick off this Friday, Oct. 23, when Windsor High School unveils its new all-weather field and track.
The unveiling ceremony, scheduled for 7:15 p.m., is part of a huge night of festivities that also includes the football Homecoming Game between Windsor and visiting El Molino. Kickoff times for the JV and varsity are 5 and 7:30 p.m. In addition, Windsor will crown a new Homecoming Queen in a halftime ceremony at around 8:30 p.m.
The event is the culmination of years of planning, which was brought to fruition when a Windsor bond measure passed to fund the field project two years ago. Work crews have been working at a feverish pace for the past several months in anticipation of Friday’s unveiling.
“The entire school and community are incredibly excited about Friday night,” said WHS Athletic Director Gene Sandwina. “I think it legitimizes our athletic programs and we’re very appreciative of the support we’ve received from the entire community.”
Parking is expected to be extremely challenging, so fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early.
